We pulled into the driveway, where a kind face opened the car door and greeted me with “Bienvenido a Casa!” Transfixed by a sentence whose translation I didn’t know, I loved that we were greeted by the mother tongue of a culture, “Welcome Home!”
It had been ten years since the last time I was in Los Cabo, and since then, had drummed up plenty of luxuriating images leading up to this getaway, so like home you better be! The choice to stay at Marquis Los Cabos Resort & Spa was pretty simple; along the Cabo Corridor was a must, and the allure of an adults-only option? Sold!
First impressions are more than just everything, it’s the deciding factor between yes or no. The sweeping view that is an open-air lobby which gazes out to the Sea of Cortez, gives you the feeling, that yeah, I could actually be home…
Like all great getaways, the desire to free your thoughts, get out of your head and be lost in a state of luxuriation is very real. It’s like Marquis Los Cabos Resort & Spa has read my mind, for the resort is designed in such a way to let you roam free. With mojito in hand, I wandered, explored, freed my mind, and luxuriated to my heart’s content.
Just like being at home, it’s an all-inclusive resort – or so I tell my parents when I stay with them {he he}. You don’t have to worry about your wallet, paying the check, and we had no intention of going into town. It’s fair to say we luxuriated by staying in! The addition of in-room dining was a welcome touch, as not many all-inclusive will offer that. With resort activities all day long, there was never a dull moment. With music trivia by the pool clocking in as my favorite activity, I had my 25th 4th mojito in one hand and not a care in the world, in the other.
After what seemed like a week but was only a weekend, I was starting to miss what I had come to know. The smiles, the attitude, the humor, and the heartbeat of the Baja culture. I always believe when you get to know the people, you will always feel at home!
The breathtaking views are not the only thing that will take your breath away. When we left in the car, a different smile said, “Ven a Casa Pronto.” Come home soon, I will…
