Unless one does not partake in the art of fashion, blogging or social media, you would never know that the resurgence queen of the past year without a doubt has been Gucci.
From the vintage inspired GG belt, to the modern loafers, bags, logo tees and I could go on, at what point do you decide to join the party or not? You’re the cool kid if you get it, but you’re an even cooler kid if you get something else from the same brand.
Personally, I tend to invest in classics, where in twelve months my investment won’t be seen as yesterday’s has been. Or be known as someone who was behind the curve. Instead, I focus on what I like, not what everyone is telling me to like.
I have a killer soft spot for designer vintage because if you score a rare piece, and no-one has it, and that’s what people crave. Scarcity, then, popularity. If I see a piece has longevity, then it’s worth investing in.
Sure the Gucci Vintage Tee is super hot right now, but in 10 years it will be the even better, cause then its real vintage. I would invest in that. I love pulling the trigger on a new purchase, but only the ones that have longevity and scarcity to me. Buy anthing of value, and the resale is pretty cool too.
