I grew up in a household where my parents forced me to behave a certain way. It’s an old-fashioned term, but you might have heard of it; They taught me to have manners. What are manners? Everyday I was reminded to sit up straight, not have my elbows on the table, write letters to my grandparents, send thank you notes, respect your elders, and the customary pleases and thank you’s that come with mingling in public. As an adult, I am very grateful, because the may I’s, pleases, excuse me’s and thank yous have gone a long way. In our very self-absorbed ‘It’s all about me’ society, don’t forget your manners. For you will go far, get free gifts, find kindness amongst strangers, and most of all you will be seen and perhaps treated with respect. I can say this with truth cause it’s happened to me. Yes on the free gifts, yes to kindness from strangers, yes to getting privileges, and have found me in a class with like-minded people. Yep, that’s right, good ole fashioned manners.

I completely agree with you. Manners are important in today’s society, because the basis of modern society is communication, and good communication requires manners. By the way I loved your look. The dotted blouse with the emerald green shoes look good! 🙂
