I’m gonna give you two key tips when investing in a cheongsam. The first is that it’s best to buy good quality. Sure you can go to Chinatown and pick up a cheapie, but it will always look like a cheapie, and it will not last. As they are mainly made from Silks and satins, good embroidery cannot be faked. The pieces I have are either high quality vintage, or high quality new pieces. Each in a different color, with a slightly different style. The second tip is when buying a dress, get the one that fits you to best, THEN figure out the length. This dress was rather long, and by experimenting with different lengths, I found one that complimented my frame and features best. The leggings and stilettos modernizes the look keeping it chic, and not looking like everyone else.
“The difference between style and fashion is quality” – Giorgio Armani
“For me, style is essentially doing things well. If you want to be outrageous, be outrageous with
style. If you want to be restrained, be restrained with style. One can’t specifically define style.
It’s like the perfume to a flower. It’s a quality you can’t analyze” – Francoise Gilot
