If I can do something right with this digital platform that is the blog right here, the goal one day is to be one of those companies that give back. It’s always been the plan, and step by step I am getting there. So I am so proud and honored to be approached by like minded companies that believe in the same ethos and vision. Slumlove is a transparent fashion line devoted to fair trade, and helping directly with the slums in Nairobi, Kenya. Each piece made provides jobs for local people who live in these slums and it gives them a fair wage, self-respect and a vision for a way out. I have visited slums in India and Rio brazil, and have seen first hand how people go without. Profits from the sweaters provide funds for educational scholarships to children living in the slum. So the next time you wanna purchase a gift or something for yourself, stop by Slumlove, cause it always takes more that a village to make change happen.
