The best part about vacation? You’re on vacation! The worst part about vacation? That last day knowing you are headed home soon. After just getting back from another overseas trip, I’m working on not falling victim to the post-vacation blues. Sure I’m prone to get them, but I’ve gotten better at not stumbling into that trap. The goal is to get back into a routine ASAP, so how do you make the transition easy? With these five solid steps!
1. Schedule time with friends: Nothing like good food, good friends and good conversation to catch you up and get you back on local time.
2. Clean Sweep: Always leave your home tidy, with the bed made, kitchen clean, and laundry put away. Coming home to a clean environment takes the stress off as you don’t have to clean when you get home.
3. Bucket List Check: By starting to plan your next adventure, it lets you focus on the new set of wanderlust locations to go to. Less time to be depressed, and more energy to focus.

4. Unpack Stat: I swear by unpacking right away. Now if you get home at midnight and want to go to bed, well that’s another thing. But the biggest hurdle to getting back into a routine is unpacking and putting your items back where they below. Do that, and the next tip is your treat!
5. Get Pampered: I always like to book a massage when I return. This way it soothes my jetlag, relaxes me and eases me back into my routine.
